After 46 remarkable years at Bishop Business, CEO and Owner, Dave Bishop, has announced his retirement at the end of this year. Starting his journey in 1978, Dave joined the company founded by his father, Jack Bishop, in 1954. Armed with a fresh college degree and big ambitions, Dave set out to sell word processors—confident they were the technology of the future (spoiler alert: they weren’t).
Over the decades, Dave has led Bishop Business through monumental changes in business technology, from the rise of fax machines to the era of AI multifunction copiers. Under his leadership, the company expanded its reach across Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas, while remaining true to its local roots and commitment to exceptional customer service.
As Dave prepares to transition from CEO to “cowboy,” he leaves the company in the capable hands of Chris Bell, the current President and Owner of Bishop Business. Chris will assume the additional role of CEO, bringing his forward-thinking leadership and dedication to the family-first culture that has defined the company for 70 years.
“Chris is like the upgraded model,” Dave shared with a smile. “He’s got all the bells and whistles, and I couldn’t be prouder to pass the torch to someone who truly understands our legacy and is ready to drive it forward.”
As for Dave? Dave looks forward to more time with family and friends taking in the great outdoors. And with a love of all things horses, don’t be surprised if you hear he’s expanded his horse ranch!
Dave’s retirement marks the end of an era, but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Bishop Business. The company remains steadfast in its mission to keep your workplace working better, while continuing to innovate and grow under Chris Bell’s leadership.
Bishop Business wishes Dave all the best in this next adventure, and thanks him for his incredible contributions to the company, its customers, and the community.
